The Club welcomes Junior members from the age of 12 (year 7). For those new to the sport, we run a ‘Learn to Row’ course once a year during the May half-term for year 7 and 8 with a few limited spaces for year 9. Applicants will get the chance to have one or more ‘taster’ sessions and, if rowing is for them, will be given coaching to a level that suits them.
Our objective is to instill an enjoyment of the sport and respect for other water users and the equipment. Crews that show promise will be encouraged to race competitively. The junior section at BBRC has had excellent results in regattas and Head Races at local, regional and national level. We row at the weekends all year round and have various evening sessions on land, and on the water in the summer.
All Junior members must be members of British Rowing. The Club also welcomes attendant adults: help with the launching of boats and holding of stopwatches in coaching launches etc. is much appreciated.
Please note that apart from the Easter learn to row program we are not able to offer holiday only rowing courses.
If you are thinking of joining the club or have questions about membership, please contact the Club Membership Lead.
Details of membership fees and application forms can be found on the Membership page.
Stay safe & have fun in rowing.
